How fast is a Speedwell GT?
Our bikes have 5 modes. The maximum speed is 20 mph in Mode 4. The maximum speed is 30 mph in Mode 5, which is intended only for use off public roads. Please familiarize yourself with your local ebike laws and regulations.
What is the range?
55-65 miles on pedal assist mode and 30-40 miles throttle only. Please note that range is dependent on riding conditions (incline, terrain, etc.), riding style, and rider weight.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. All of our bikes are backed by a 6-month limited warranty. The warranty covers manufacturer defects to the major components of the bike. You can find the details here. You must register your bike to be eligible for warranty coverage.
What’s the deal with shipping and delivery?
We ship e-bikes within the continental U.S. only. They ship via LTL freight due to shipping restrictions on e-bike batteries and delivery times vary based on location from a few days to a couple of weeks. When your bike is shipped, you will receive tracking information and an estimated delivery date. The delivery company will call you to arrange a convenient delivery date and time once it arrives in your area.
You also have the option of selecting local delivery in Southern California or free pick-up for e-bikes at our Long Beach location. Parts and accessories ship via USPS, UPS or FedEx.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns of unused and unopened items for up to 30 days after delivery. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping to us. Electric bike returns are also subject to a 10% restocking fee. Refunds will be processed to the original form of payment after we receive the return. Please allow up to 7-10 business days for your bank to credit the funds back to your account.
You must email returns@speedwell.bike to initiate a return.
Can I cancel my order?
Cancellation requests must be submitted prior to shipping and may be subject to a 3.5% fee to cover non-refundable credit card processing fees. Orders cannot be cancelled once they are shipped.
Can I test ride an ebike?
If you are in Southern California, you can contact us to request a test ride. Also keep an eye on our socials for rides and events where you can check out our ebikes in person at other locations.
Can I modify my bike?
We think it is pretty great as is, but you can modify your bike to make it unique. Note that many modifications can cause your bike to malfunction, can be dangerous, and will void the warranty. This is especially true for modifications to the battery, controller, and motor. If you have a question about the impact of a particular modification on your warranty, reach out.
Where can I get my bike fixed?
Most bicycle shops can perform routine non-electrical repairs on your bike. If you need help with a repair or need replacement parts, reach out to us at help@speedwell.bike. Modifying or attempting to repair the electrical system on your own will void your limited warranty.
